Large Cactus trees, preferring dry conditions along the desert-like foothills of the Sierra Madres mountains, flower yellow or bright orange. They appear growing remarkably sporadic in groups; one specialized area will be covered with fields of them, then suddenly none are seen for many miles. The cover image shows a cactus tree growing beside a dying oak.
