We may never fully understand why a country with such hard-working, resourceful people in a beautiful land brimming with high economic potential, a country with such a powerfully influential history has not excelled beyond the corruption it still faces today. However, world history and politics are far too complex for a foreigner visiting temporarily in any country to make judgments of how and why things are the way they are.

Extreme poverty is undeniable, but in the face of deficiency, Mexico has a lot to offer by the example of her people in the direction of work ethics, family values, and the celebration of life. The best thing that travel does is help us recognize that in our hearts and souls we aren’t much different from each other anywhere we live. All countries and histories are interwoven; this is one Earth. One color affects another.
